We are proud to announce the first ever ultimate tournament in Aspen, CO! Due to scarcity of field options and the general elevated cost associated with such a premier vacation destination we were not sure if this was possible to make happen; however, the City of Aspen - and the Aspen Parks and Recreation specifically - have graciously and generously cooperated with us to make this tournament a reality.
This will be a Saturday hat tournament with multiple options for fabulous activities on Sunday. Ultimate games, dodgeball, mountain biking, and guided hikes are among the choices for Sunday. Players will also have the opportunity to play disc golf and/or listen to bluegrass music at the top of Aspen Mountain. Come enjoy the spectacular views and wonderful company of other ultimate players.
Location: Aspen Recreation Center and the Aspen High School ... across the road from each other. 1 artificial turf field at each location. There will be no food allowed on the playing surfaces themselves, but there is ample room off of the fields to enjoy such things.
Fee: There will be a $40/player fee for this event. This fee includes the costs for: a disc for each player, field rental, tournament insurance, typical field food for both days, a wonderful catered dinner at the fields on Saturday, party location expenses, and several kegs of Colorado brew for all (who are of age) to enjoy. This tournament will not be held to make a profit; quite the contrary, we are securing sponsors as we speak to even make the event a reality. We love our valley, and love the perks that come along with living in such a beautiful place; however, typical costs for everything from food to lodging are quite a bit higher than in most other places. If you can look past what seems to be a high entry fee, we think you will find that your money will be well spent.
Further information to come as details are finalized. Our website will also be updated with these details. The Aspen Parks and Recreation will soon have online registration available.
Cheers,
Chappy
