Ok, so here it is - Skunks beginners is back, arguably the biggest UK tournament of the year. 16 teams, £110 per team, and if you have ever been to a Southampton University tournament before (like I have...) then you'll know that it includes massive benefits including team bags, a big party and the chance to meet (arguably) the best looking team in student ultimate... Usual rules apply, one experienced player on the line at any one time (bring a hat to distinguish from beginners) and we class a beginner as someone who has been playing for less than six months. NB: For those looking out for the Skunks 8 team Mini tournament that usually runs alongside the beginners keep checking your mail, we have a potential venue for that but need to discuss whether it can go ahead.
So to summarise:
- 16 teams
- £110 entry
- Indoors
- 1 Experienced in a hat (Beginners are <6months experience)
- The Skunks are very good looking
Please respond with number of teams you would like to enter, approximate number of players per team, team name and a team contact (Name, email).
This weekend 15 teams travelled to Southampton for the 2008 Skunks Beginners tournament. It was a great weekend for all the teams involved this weekend with clear improvements from all teams as the tournament progressed. The spirit was generally great and it was good to see new players beginning to learn to play hard while still making fair decisions.
