The first annual Open/Women's Spanish championship will be in Punta Umbra, south of Sevilla, on the weekend of November 8-9, 2008.
The defending Spanish Open champions are Patatas Bravas, from Barcelona, who won on the beaches of Laredo in 2007.
This marks the first Women's championship in Spanish history. This tournament will be held on beach; later in the month the Mixed Championships will also take place, on grass.

Los tinerfeños Guayota se proclamaron vencedores del VIII Campeonato de España de ultimate playa disputado este fin de semana en Punta Umbría (Huelva) en categoría open, después de derrotar en la final a los barceloneses Patatas Bravas por 10 a 6.
Los catalanes, se recuperaron en categoría femenina, donde su equipo Crema Catalana derrotó en la final a Dulcineas de Madrid por 13 a 8.
Los premios al espíritu del juego fueron para Atis Tirma en categoría open y Dulcineas en femenina.
