Yessir! Onionfest is back! Come on down to Walla Walla to compete in a coed tourney before your team has to get serious for the College Series. Or maybe your team is long past that point and wants to take out some hotshot college players... Either way, Onionfest is a tournament that fits all your team's needs.
Get out your calendars and mark it for April 5th and 6th, 2014! Onionfest is an annual tournament hosted by the Whitman College Sweets and guarantees a fun-filled weekend of Ultimate in the city so nice they named it twice: Walla Walla, WA. As usual, you can expect yummy food from an authentic Walla Walla taco truck on Saturday night, an on-site athletic trainer, Port-A-Fields (we're better than cones!), a great Saturday night shindig (21+), an onion eating contest (start training now), and an exhibition game for your team to enjoy with your meal from the taco truck. Don't miss out!
Bid fee: Onionfest 2014's bid fee will be $390. Please make checks out to "Whitman College" and place "Onionfest, [team name]" in the memo. Mail to: Arianne Lozano, Whitman College, 280 Boyer Ave, Walla Walla, WA 99362 ~ Bids due by Saturday, March 15th.
What to do: Please email Nathan and Ari at firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a spot at this year's tourney! We hope to host about 20 teams. First come, first served. Please include - Team name, affiliation (i.e. college, club name, city), contact and contact email/cell phone.
Alcohol policy: Onionfest fields must be completely dry as always. Whitman College Administration is requiring that these measures be enforced. As a result, any alcohol on the fields will be confiscated and the violating teams may be asked to leave the tournament. If the alcohol policy is not abided by, there is a chance that we will not be allowed to host Onionfest in the future. For that reason, we ask that you respect these rules and refrain from drinking during the tounrament. We love our Ultimate and don't want to lose it.
Lodging: The closest budget hotels are Travelodge, Super 8, and La Quinta Inn (all in downtown Walla Walla which is just blocks away from the fields). If you are interested in group rates, please let us know ASAP so we can get you the necessary information. We will try our best to host some teams but we must receive bid fees before we start looking for housing for your team.
