The first beach event from the makers of the Copa Cabana tournament. 7 pitches of coastal sand, a private bar, beach and stage for the entertainment. It's the complete package. Capacity of 500 so teams we'll be limited to 32 teams.

Thanks to everyone who came to Copa del Soul 2011 in the erratic weather of Ingoldmells!

The winners, somewhat expectedly and reassuringly were the GB Open team playing with themselves (again GB Open 2) in a rain drenched final just like last year.

The overall event was bright and sunny though and saw many a massive lightning storm bypass us on Saturday!

Both parties were epic ending shortly past 3am both nights and leaving many competitors feeling the burn the following day but all in the spirit of the event and in the spirit of beach ultimate. BULA would have been proud!

The results! Winners...GB Open B 2nd GB Open G 3rd GB Mixed Masters

Great work by GB teams scoring so high up in their prep for Worlds in August!

Plate was won by Cambridge, the Spoon by Red and the Party award hard earned by Razzle Dazzle for their recreation of the moon landing.

The most important award, that being the BULA Spirit of the Game, was claimed by the GB Women squad! They received some gear donated kindly by Discraft! Special mention goes to UCL and Superfly who tied for 2nd place in spirit.

Fields Competition Accessibility Organisation Facilities Food & accommodation Bonus Overall

Reviews like this are just a bit weak. Omahonyjt...can you expand on how the Fields were 'Not so good". I've got 3 reviews here and so far got a 'Very good', 'Good' and 'Not so good'. Your "Not so good" review has no comment clarifying anything so really I'd like to just disregard it. Unfortunately I can't do that. Nor can I act to improve the event because there's no comment to explain why the negative review. The fields were marked with lines and cones, and made of sand. Please expand.

Only issue was the temperamental food supply which was sorted as best as it could be at short notice, awesome time was had

Agreed on the food supply. We need two serving stations for next year and also a better schedule to accommodate access to it. It was the 1st try at food at this venue for that many. Mistakes in planning were made. Next year will be much better!

Elliot, Thanks for the review. I agree with most of it except I thought in terms of Bonus we did pretty well. We had two parties in a good venue until quite late, deals on drinks, a team pack with a disc, hacky and some other things. That said...the city wasn't great but the beach was quite good. It's difficult to find 7 pitches of beach in the UK. I don't think it deserved a 'Not so good' considering there isn't a lower rating available.
