Frisbee tournaments in United Kingdom / Sunburn 2009

The somewhat misleadingly-named Sunburn beach ultimate tournament took place this weekend on Canford Cliffs Beach in Poole, Dorset. 24 teams came out and weathered 50mph winds for two days.

The final between emo and BUF was hard fought with excellent handling into the wind from both teams and some great grabs downwind. In the end BUF came away with the victory. MVP was Justin Foord who was honoured with a Lairdship. He is now Laird Justin Foord of Lochaber to the rest of us.

Bristol Pastic Factory and Leamington Lemmings drew for spirit.

Winning the Longest Layout competition with a huge leap of 23 feet 5 inches was Dom from BUF. Fastest to the Post was Justin (also from BUF - wind assisted).

Thanks to everyone for coming out. Any profits from this tournament go into developing TBU and ultimate in Dorset.

Sorry about the wind! We are looking into buying 100 ft high windbreaks for next year's event.
