Here are the results from Discgow 2009, the first qualifier for UKU indoor Nationals, held in Glasgow last weekend at the brilliant Toryglen Regional Football Centre.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made the tournament a massive success, the standard of play was excellent and the venue were really happy with how everything went and are looking forward to having us back.
Discgow Open is an open tournament run alongside Womens Regionals in Scotland, an ideal opportunity for club members not involved in womens regionals to enjoy some excellent indoor ultimate and contribute to the fun at the party. There will be a relatively early finish on Sunday (3pm) to allow teams to travel home at a reasonable hour.
This year in Glasgow we have secured the use of a venue superior to anything used for indoor ultimate in the UK to date. The brand new Toryglen Regional football centre ( http://www.csglasgow.org/services/Sport/FootballCentres/ToryglenRegionalFootballCentre/ ) developed as a training facility for the London 2012 olympic games will be an inspiring venue to both play and watch ultimate with a 700 seat stand overlooking the state of the art artificial grass pitches.
There was originally space for 12 teams, however if there is sufficient interest (we have ten teams so far) I hope to expand to closer to 16, i will need to confirm this with the venue soon though, so if you are thinking of getting a team together then please get in touch ASAP.
Entry Fees are £120 per team
To register your team(s), please provide the following details
If you have any queries about the tournament or would like to know more please get in touch.
Look Forward to hearing from you.
Just agreed with the UKUA...
This year discgow open will act as one of the qualifying tournaments for UKUA indoor nationals to be held at the same venue on the 30th/31st Jan. 2010. The top three teams at discgow will qualify to play nationals.
So any teams with aspirations of taking on the rest of the UK on the indoor scene should get their entry in.
