This will be the last access statistics review for the first generation of ffindr. This version, live for almost 16 months now, will be replaced by the end of the week. The functionalities now available on the public beta are final, the only changes until the release will be bug fixes (if you still find any, please communicate them).

Development started in the very early morning of July 31 in Vancouver. I took advantage of a few additional morning hours caused by the jet leg imported from Paris. Since then countless hours have been spent on the new version, many more than expected. I basically started from the scratch, rebuilding the core functionalities with a more flexible design (allowing for faster feature integration in the future). Now it's done, ffindr 2.0 is online!

The new ffindr is now online for more then 10 days, visitors and feedback are numerous. My job shifted from programming to marketing. It will surely take some weeks and months until the ultilinks section is somehow complete, i.e. lists at least the major clubs from each country. This post is dedicated to highlight the changes in the new version and to have a look at possible new features.

A big year for ffindr draws to a close, and certainly we do have some new year's resolutions to make the next one even bigger. The roadmap for the next six months schedules the following milestones:
replacing the currently used JavaScript Libraries Prototype, Scriptaculous and LivePipe by lighter, faster and more flexible jQuery (to be done until mid-February)
upgrading to more performant Propel 1.3 (an object-relational mapping toolkit that links the database with the object classes), required
